Boater's Rights Advocay Coalition – Fighting for Freedom of Waterway Access for All

Collaborate
A Coalition of four active boaters associations representing more than 20,000 boaters. The coalition include America's Great Loop Cruisers' Association, DeFever Cruisers, Marine Trawler Owners Association, and Seven Seas Cruising Association.

Advocate
Advocate for the rights of active cruisers and boaters to use public waterways. We focus on equitable access, safety, environmental awareness, and freedom to enjoy public natural resources.

Educate
We aim to educate and bring together all stakeholders—boaters, policymakers, and the public—to foster a deeper understanding of the responsible use of our waterways.
Provide current and accurate information by making an easy-to-access library of the vast quantities of research and resources related to state statutes, waterway access, anchoring, mooring, water quality, economic data, navigation, and passage making for boaters, policy makers, and the public.
Advocating Associations
America’s Great Loop Cruisers' Association (AGLCA)
Established 1999
Loopers cruise the 6,000-mile Great Loop route aboard their own boats completing a circumnavigation of the eastern U.S. and part of Canada via mostly protected inland waterways. The Great Loop route follows the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, the Chesapeake Bay, and the New York Canals northwards, goes across the Great Lakes, south on the Inland Rivers, and then east Gulf Coast to complete the Loop.
DeFever Cruisers
Established 1995
This is a cruising-focused group of yachting enthusiasts who share a passion for our vessels and the cruising life. We currently have over 500 members representing most states in the US and 13 other nations around the world.
Marine Trawler Owners Association (MTOA)
Established 1991
The Marine Trawlers Owners Association (MTOA) is the nation’s largest trawler-focused boating organization. Our mission is to promote camaraderie, education and safe boating among Trawler enthusiasts.
Seven Seas Cruisers Association (SSCA)
Established 1952
The Seven Seas Cruising Association is the oldest and largest worldwide organization supporting the liveaboard cruising lifestyle. Founded in 1952 by six liveaboard couples in California and now with members worldwide, today’s SSCA remains true to the traditions of its original members — sharing cruising information, fostering camaraderie, and leaving a clean wake.
